Welcome to the new school year to all of our Lowther Hall families! Our Prefects were on hand to cheer for each girl as she entered the gates this morning, and it was delightful to hear the grounds abuzz with laughter and chatter throughout the day as students reunited with one another. We look forward to sharing our 101st year with you all!

Best in the west! Our girls' VCE results have placed Lowther Hall within the top 5% of all schools in Victoria. Congratulations to our Class of 2020, and dedicated teachers and staff.

You may have noticed we were featured in the Sunday Herald Sun over the weekend! The article referenced the work we and other schools are doing to provide students the same valuable experiences in creative COVID-safe ways. In addition to our ‘reimagined’ Prep & Year 12 Gift Exchange, new initiatives include Auslan and body percussion in our Choral program, dry-land training for our rowers and virtual music and snowsports camps.

Our treasured ‘Prep & Year 12 Gift Exchange’ ceremony was held yesterday, virtually! Each Prep girl pre-recorded a video message of thanks to each Year 12 girl, as well as making her a paper flower. In return, our Preps received special envelopes of sunflower seeds as well as handwritten cards from each Year 12. This annual ritual symbolises the growth of all girls during their time at Lowther Hall.

Congratulations to Year 7 student, Lucy, whose composition A Trumpeter's Delight has been selected for Artology's Open Fanfare program at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) to be performed by the Queensland Youth Orchestra!

We officially launched ‘live streaming’ at Lowther Hall this week! Our students tuned in for the Whole School Assembly, which 'united' us online despite being physically apart. We look forward to presenting more live streamed events to our School Community in the future.

We have introduced a face mask option as part of our school uniform. From August 16, girls aged 12 years and over may wear either a disposable white or blue mask, or the fabric Lowther Hall mask. It is optional for girls under 12.

Today is Olympic Day! To celebrate, Senior School Sports Captains ran a special lunchtime event with sports-related activities for girls to enjoy. Diving, Football, Orienteering, Snowsports, Soccer, Badminton, Volleyball, Tennis, Softball, Basketball, Hockey and Netball were all represented!
