Global connections such as this are so important for building cultural understanding and we are incredibly proud of the relationships we have with each of our sister schools around the world. Senior School girls enjoyed hearing each of the French students introduce themselves in assembly on Monday where they were also presented with their Lowther Hall bears and greeted in both French and English by our French Captain, Laetitia Greco.
The buzz of excitement has continued this week with many girls, staff and parents chatting about our appearance on Channel 9 last week. Thank you to everyone who has expressed their delight at our new venture with the Cathedral – it is certainly great cause for celebration. A letter from the Dean of the Cathedral which I received last week is included in this Bulletin and will give you a sense of the excitement which the church is feeling about our partnership. In the Dean’s letter you will read that our Chaplain, Reverend Emily Fraser, has been appointed as Honorary Associate Clergy at the Cathedral and we are all invited to attend St Paul’s on 6 March at 10.30am to see her commissioned. I look forward to seeing some of you there!
Finally, it has been a big week for House Spirit this week, with the Senior School girls busy rehearsing for the House Performing Arts festival and the Junior School girls in Years 4, 5 and 6 enjoying their House Swimming Competition. The cross age connections fostered through these activities are an important feature of our school and it is wonderful to see the girls working together with older girls supporting younger ones and students across the year levels combining to achieve shared goals. We certainly are richly blessed!
