It has been wonderful to have had so many opportunities to connect with our community during the last week. I was inspired by our student leaders on Tuesday when the Year 12 Prefects and Captains ran activities for the Year 6 leaders. I also delighted in the enthusiasm of our new Blinkbonnie students as they received their “welcome” Lowther Bears on Thursday. Today it has been a pleasure to celebrate the academic success of the class of 2018 at the annual Academic Awards Ceremony and to formally commence the year in Raymond House at the Service and Dedication of Year 6. These occasions have also provided an opportunity to connect with parents which I have appreciated.
The feedback that I receive from parents is very valuable in continuing to ensure that we provide the very best educational service to our girls and families. I do encourage you to feel free to make an appointment to see me any time through the year if you feel there are things that would be helpful for me to know. Please do not feel that you would be wasting my time! It is important to me that I know how things are going for you and your daughters.
One opportunity for us to catch up and for parents to connect with each other is at the Welcome Evening on Friday 15 February. I hope that many of you will be able to join us for this event and that you will take the opportunity to let me or other key staff know how the start of the year has been for your family.
Thank you for all you have done to facilitate a positive and focussed start to the 2019 academic year.
