I am looking forward to seeing many members of the School Community at the Lowther Women Luncheon next Thursday. This year, the theme for International Women’s Day is “Balance for Better” and in keeping with this theme we will be hearing from a panel of individuals involved in careers or activities traditionally occupied by men: Ann Cole (past parent) will share insights from her work in the aviation industry, Mandy Bo (Old Grammarian) will reflect on her work in the IT gaming field, Head of Science, Ms Catherine Kirby and Year 10 student, Susan Godfrey will speak about engaging women in science and on their recent experiences on the “NASA” trip to the USA. Finally, Reverend Emily Fraser will share her thoughts about the role of female clergy. I am confident that it will be a thought provoking time as well as a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends from across different sectors of the Lowther Hall community.
