I’m sure that those of you who were in the audience for our Senior School production of The School for Scandal last Friday and Saturday will agree that it was wonderful show&mdasha visual spectacle with a wide array of costumes, colourful lighting and an exciting dance scene.
It was a challenging script for the performers, with a large amount of dialogue. The girls demonstrated tenacity and discipline in memorising their lines, which will stand them in good stead for their future learning.
Productions like this require an enormous commitment from the students, but also our staff. Ms Celia Brown, our Head of Drama and the Director of The School for Scandal, in her last production for the School before her retirement, is to be congratulated for the way she leads a group of students across all year levels, and skilfully brings them together to deliver such an outstanding performance.
Thank you also to Ms Ruth Ball and Mrs Zoe Anderson for their work behind the scenes as Production Assistants, and for Zoe, also as Choreographer, and to all the other members of the staff for their contributions, big and small.
The generous support of our group of parent helpers, in costuming, props and set construction, is always appreciated. We can not produce a show of such high quality without your invaluable assistance.
Finally, thank you to our members of the audience for attending and supporting our girls. We look forward to another Senior School Production in 2016!
