Welcome back to Term 2! In only 3 days so much has already happened: The Senior School Athletics Carnival, the first rehearsal of the Girls’ Voices of the Cathedral Choir, training for Term 2 Sports and lots of learning! If you have had an opportunity to walk past the front of the School, you will have observed that the resurfacing of the driveway areas is now complete, with rubberised track installed down each side of the Mansion for use in Sport and Physical Education classes and training sessions across the School. Line markings will soon be added to these areas. Down-ball courts and carparks have been marked out in other spaces and the Senior School girls are enjoying utilising these areas for active play during their breaks.
Now that the colder weather is approaching we are transitioning to the winter uniform. During the next 2 weeks girls are expected to make a sensible choice about which uniform to wear. We would expect the changeover to winter uniform to be complete by Tuesday 26 April unless the weather is unseasonably warm! Please ensure that girls have enough winter shirts to be able to maintain appropriate levels of personal hygiene. Also, please check that all shirts fit correctly – with enough room in the collar for a comfortable fit when the top button is done up. A reminder for the Senior School girls that skirts are to come to the knee and should not be “rolled up” – again please check that your daughter’s waist band fits her comfortably as she may have grown over summer.
At our whole school assembly on Tuesday, I encouraged the girls to support each other and their school this term through attendance at special events. I do hope that many of you are preparing to attend the 2016 Senior School Production, Beauty and the Beast as I am sure that it will be highly entertaining for all ages. Also, please see details in this Bulletin about the Million Paws Walk which the PFA are supporting this year and at which we hope to have a significant Lowther Hall presence!
