Twilight Festival
I am delighted that this week we are able to officially launch the School’s 2016 Twilight Festival! I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Parents and Friends for all the work that has already been undertaken to plan this wonderful event. If you were part of the 2014 Festival, you will remember what a wonderful community event it was – especially the magnificent fireworks, which I am excited to announce will be back this year, thanks to the generous sponsorship of one of our School families! The last Festival raised funds for the creation of the Reflective Space and Chaplain’s Office at the rear of the Mansion and also paid for additional microphones and lighting in the Cultural Centre. A plaque to acknowledge this wonderful community effort will be coming soon to the new space. The proceeds from the 2016 Festival will be dedicated to the development of a new link between the Noelene Horton Centre (Science Building) and the Mansion. This will provide the girls and staff with a much needed walkway between buildings and will also provide disability access.
This year, we will be asking all families to support the Festival through the selling of one book of 5 raffle tickets ($10 per ticket) which will be sent home in the coming weeks. I hope that you will support the work of our Parents and Friends’ Association as they come together for the benefit of our School. Please see the information on the next page for more information about the Festival!
Girls’ Voices of the Cathedral
A reminder that the Girls’ Voices of the Cathedral will be singing at their first Evensong on August 3. I hope that many of you will be able to join us for this important historic event. The girls had their first rehearsal at St Paul’s last night and it was fantastic to hear them abuzz with excitement about their role.
