Congratulations to all involved in this week’s Annual Music Concert at the Recital Centre. I was immensely proud of the girls for their fine performances – a reflection of the hard work and dedication that they bring to their individual music learning and the commitment they have to the ensembles in which they participate. Our music staff demonstrate a palpable love of music and a joy in working with the girls that is infectious and I thank them for their tireless efforts in presenting such a high quality event. Those of you who were there, will agree, I am sure, that the standard was incredibly high and that it was hard to remember that the performances were being given by students! Thank you to all involved and particularly our Director of Music, Mr Darren Emerson and his team, for a wonderful night.
The end of Term 3 has not seen any slowing of the pace at school! The Year 12 girls have enjoyed a reflective time at their Retreat and are now ready to launch themselves into their final studies in the preparation for examinations. Year 9 students set off for their Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey, but due to the heavy rain will be returning a little earlier than planned! Our International Study Tours to France and Japan have set off on their adventures and I am looking forward to joining the Japan Tour in Osaka in order to participate in further celebrations of the 20th anniversary of our relationships with the Shin-Ai School.
To all girls and families, I wish you a safe and restful break. Thank you for all the ways you have contributed to a wonderful term of learning and for your ongoing support.
Independent Schools Victoria Parent Website
As you are no doubt aware, Lowther Hall is a member of Independent Schools Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to independent education. ISV are committed to promoting, developing and protecting the autonomy of Member Schools. The Parents’ Website of Independent Schools Victoria aims to cover the issues that matter to the parents of Independent school students. The dangers of ‘perfectionism’ for girls, the future of handwriting, ‘mindful’ parenting, and supporting students through the stresses of VCE are some of the issues explored. In addition, the website has celebrated the great work in our school communities. I invite you all to visit the website at www.theparentswebsite.com.au and click on the ‘Subscribe’ tab at the top of the page.
